Rookside Management

MichyMichelle Carter (MichyGeary). The proprietor of CastleCon. In regards to the planning committee, Michelle is responsible for delegating the various tasks to the team, writing letters and emails, managing the Newsletter/Twitter, financing the con's individual endeavors, and spreading the word. She is in her final matriculating year to earn her degree in English with the University of Connecticut. Michelle has been following Castle since before day one. After learning from the Dr. Horrible "Commentary! The Musical" of Nathan Fillion's cameo role in the popular Xbox game "Halo 3," she checked the IMDB page for more information. Intrigued by the top-of-the-list credit for "Castle," wherein Fillion seemed to portray the show's namesake, she fixed to catch the pilot on March 9th. What with Fillion's impeccable humor, Stana Katic's "tough-but-savvy" fox of a detective, and the astounding chemistry resulting from the two at work and play, it didn't take long for this new crime drama to jump to the top of Michelle's favorite fandoms. Outside of planning the first Castle convention, her participation in the Castle fandom includes writing fiction, designing graphics, video editing, designing merchandise, keeping track of and acquiring the music used in the show for record at Castle's Capers, and general promotion and engendering interest for the show in prospective as well as existing fans.

HilaryHilary Taylor (HilB126). Hilary has been part of the Rookside Management team from day one when the convention was still just a concept. She has been valuable in every endeavor, particularly in regards to scoping venues, keeping planning and collected information organized, reviewing all proposals and giving critical feedback, and being a general support to the team's pursuits. Lover of all things in the educational realm of English, she's in her senior year of University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Art History. With this degree, she hopes to become a script writer or editor. In a dimly lit living room at four am on a school night, Hilary discovered Castle. "It's really all about the one-liners for me," she says, recounting her numerous favorites, "but their sexual tension is the whipped cream on top of the sundae." Innuendo much? She likes. Her top favorite fandoms outside of Castle include Lost, Glee, the Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, and Imogen Heap. She welcomes any and all to contact her about fandoms and of course Castle and this convention. "I promise I won't bite ? unless you've got whipped cream."

Now attending Northern Virginia Community College pursuing a career as a graphic designer, Mike hopes to make a decent living off of web design. Being a Castle fan, Mike was asked to become Rookside Management's Web Designer and Web Manager and gladly accepted the challenge. Michelle Carter was the one who introduced him to Castle, he knew this was something not to miss. Mike started watching Castle between season's one and two, and fell in love with the show.
